Jiaogulan Southern Ginseng 绞股蓝Jiaogulan, the scientific is name Gynostemma pentaphyllum. The common name is "Southern Ginseng" as it grows in south central Chinas and has similarity to Ginseng in chemical composition and function.
It is also praised as Xiancao 仙草, "Immortality" Herb, because it grows wild and has many health-giving qualities and anti-aging effects. It is used for many years as medicinal and energizing tea in China.
